What happens if my subscription payment fails?
Modified on Wed, 29 Jul at 5:20 AM
If a renewal payment doesn’t go through, don’t worry — your subscription isn’t cancelled straight away. Trading pauses until the payment clears, but you keep full access to your account and dashboard, and the system retries automatically.
What happens, step by step
- Your renewal payment fails. Trading is paused, but you can still log in and see everything.
- The system automatically retries the charge over the course of the month.
- As soon as a payment succeeds, trading switches back on and a new renewal date is set.
- If nothing clears within the month, the subscription closes and you’d start a new one to continue.
Trading paused vs subscription closed
| Trading paused | Subscription closed | |
|---|---|---|
| When | A charge failed, retries running | No payment cleared all month |
| Platform access | Stays on | Ends |
| Can you recover it? | Yes — a successful payment fixes it | No — you’d start a new one |
Good to know
- The quickest fix is usually to update your payment method — trading re-enables as soon as a charge succeeds.
- While a payment is outstanding, you can’t progress or pass a challenge.
- A failed payment shifts your renewal date forward to when the payment actually clears.
Retries are always at the standard monthly price. To avoid interruptions, keep a valid card on file with enough funds before your renewal date.Related: How billing works · Cancelling your subscription
