What happens if I don’t pass the Trading Challenge?

Modified on Wed, 29 Jul at 4:23 AM

This answer covers both plans. Jump to the one you are on: Pivex Classic (one-time purchase)  |  Pivex Membership (monthly)

Not sure which you have? Open your dashboard — your accounts are grouped under a Membership tab and a One-time tab.

Pivex Classic

If you fail to meet the profit target or break any rules and objectives during your Trading Challenge, your account will be deactivated, and you will not progress to the Pivex Trader's Stage.

What Are Your Options After Failing the Challenge?

1. Buying a New Challenge Account:

  • You will need to purchase a new account to start the challenge again. This gives you a fresh opportunity to demonstrate your trading skills while adhering to the rules.

2. Owning Multiple Accounts:

  • You can manage multiple challenge accounts simultaneously, allowing you to diversify strategies and manage risk separately.
  • Some traders prefer to use different account sizes to test varied trading approaches or manage risk across distinct strategies.

3. Retry Discounts:

  • If you demonstrated consistent trading behavior but just missed the profit target, you may qualify for a retry discount.
  • This discount, visible in your dashboard or sent via email after the Challenge, offers a reduced fee for your next attempt, acknowledging your consistent effort and encouraging continued progress.

Why Traders May Not Reach the Target and How to Avoid It

Many traders fail to meet the profit target due to improper risk management or overleveraging in volatile markets. For example, buying high-risk cryptocurrencies or commodities assets with large lot sizes can lead to significant losses if the market moves against you. These assets often experience drastic price swings, making them dangerous for those who don’t have the discipline to manage their risk. Similarly, trading with too large a position size can quickly deplete your account if the market fluctuates unexpectedly.

To avoid these pitfalls, always start with smaller lot sizes, particularly when trading highly volatile assets, and never exceed your set drawdown limits. Managing your trades carefully and using risk management tools like stop-loss orders will help protect your account and keep you on track to reach your profit target.

Pivex Membership

On Pivex Membership, not passing does not mean buying again.

Two ways forward

  • Continue at your next renewal — already covered by the membership you are paying for, and your renewal date does not change.
  • Restart now at the standard monthly price, if you would rather not wait. This realigns your billing cycle to the day you restart.

Whichever you choose, everything you have learned carries over — and there is no time limit on qualifying, so there is no rush.

A restart returns the account to its starting balance and clears its performance record, including any minimum trading days already completed.
