What is the Daily Loss Protection and how does it protect my account?

Modified on Thu, 5 Nov at 8:46 AM

Daily Loss Protection is a free safety net on your Pivex Membership account. When your losses for the day get close to the daily drawdown limit, it closes your open positions and pauses trading until 00:00 UTC, before the limit is breached. Instead of losing the account, you lose the rest of the day.

Can you carry on?Yes — the account stays active and your progress is intactNo

When it applies

  • It works automatically — there is nothing to buy or switch on.
  • It protects you once. After it has triggered, you will see "Your Daily Loss Protection has been used". It won't protect you again until it is renewed — it is switched back on when the account is reset.
  • For repeat protection, see Daily Loss Protection Plus below.

What happens when it triggers

  • Your open positions are closed, so the loss can't deepen while you are away from the screen.
  • Trading pauses until 00:00 UTC. You'll see a banner "Your account is protected — Trading resumes in…" and a summary of today's losses against your allowed daily loss limit.
  • This is not a breach. Your account stays Active and you keep access to your dashboard. When the new trading day starts, you continue with the same balance, objectives and progress.

Options shown in the pause window

  • If your account is still at or above its initial balance, you may be offered Daily Loss Protection Plus.
  • If your account is below its initial balance, you may be offered a paid account reset instead.

Both are optional. Read more: What are Daily Loss Protection Plus and an account reset?
